xbeta
About

xbeta is a wiki about econometrics, mathematics, statistics, and scientific computing. Like Wikipedia, everyone is encouraged to contribute to articles by creating new pages, adding information to existing pages, and checking articles for accuracy.

What makes xbeta special is that the underlying wiki software, a MathML-enabled version of Instiki created by Jacques Distler, has tightly integrated support for MathML and a simple text-based markup based on Markdown for basic formatting and itex for entering mathematics. itex is very similar to LaTeX so anyone familiar with LaTeX should be able to quickly learn how to write equations on the wiki.

The name xbeta comes from standard notation for the linear regression model

y=x β+ε.y = x^\top \beta + \varepsilon.
